Dr. Tyrel Somers
Family Medicine
Dr Somers grew up in Natoma, Kansas nearby and is very thrilled to be able to practice at a place he calls home. He really enjoys being a family doctor as he gets to make personal relationships with his patients becoming more familiar with their care over time.
Dr Somers is married with 8 daughters and lives on a small farm south of Russell where he enjoys caring for his many animals. He enjoys playing and collecting board games so much that he attends a yearly conference to view and play board games with other gamers. He also enjoys wrestling, especially All Elite Wrestling and enjoys attending live events and watching their weekly programs. Dr Somers also enjoys traveling with his wife and enjoys the many adventures they get to take together.
Dr. Somers' interests in medicine vary greatly. "I enjoy that I can do and help with a little bit of everything for a patient. My particular interests include chronic wounds, gastroenterology, psychiatric care, diabetes care and joint pain."
Dr Somers also enjoys working with students and often has many students assisting and learning within his practice. He enjoys educating the next generation of care providers on the fun aspects of rural family medicine.
