Russell Regional Hospital Announces Upcoming Departure of Dr. Tyrel Somers
Russell Regional Hospital announces that Dr. Tyrel Somers has made the difficult decision to relocate with his family and will conclude his service with the hospital on August 31, 2026, following the completion of his notice period.
Dr. Somers has faithfully served the Russell community for the past eleven years as a Family Medicine Physician and has also provided exceptional leadership as Chief of Medical Staff.
Throughout his career at Russell Regional Hospital, Dr. Somers has earned the respect of his patients, colleagues, and community through his commitment to compassionate, high-quality healthcare. His dedication has made a lasting impact on countless families throughout the region, and his leadership has helped strengthen the hospital's mission of providing exceptional care close to home.

Russell Regional Hospital has already begun planning for a seamless transition of patient care and physician coverage. Dr. Somers will continue serving patients while working closely with hospital leadership to ensure continuity of care.
Additional information regarding future provider coverage and recruitment efforts will be shared with patients and the community as plans are finalized.
