Maintenance Tech
Full Time, Maintenance Dept
General Purpose
Performs maintenance and repairs on all hospital mechanical and electrical equipment, performs security duties, and completes projects assigned by the Maintenance Lead and the Director of Maintenance.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Experience in landscaping is preferred. Previous experience in the maintenance field is preferred. This may include any of the following: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, welding, refrigeration, heating and air conditioning.
Skills: Ability to communicate with persons of various backgrounds in a tactful, courteous manner. Must have knowledge of hospital maintenance and be able to incorporate such knowledge in all conditions varying from the routine to the emergency. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain/repair mechanical and electrical equipment within the Hospital as needed or assigned.
Use sound judgment in obtaining advice when advanced mechanical knowledge is required.
Understand thoroughly all procedures and regulations for Fire Safety and Disaster Programs.
Make daily rounds, making note of any repairs that are needed to the physical plant and facility.
Follow proper safety procedures while operating, repairing or testing of equipment within the facility.
Maintain attractive appearance of the Hospital by performing painting, plastering and/or remodeling duties as assigned.
Provide security services for the Hospital following security policies and procedures.
Deliver or transport supplies and equipment.
Adhere to established Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Clean walks and parking areas of trash, grass cuttings, and snow.
Operate tools to include power mower, fertilizer spreader, mechanical leaf, and grass sweeper, lawn sprayers, edgers and weed eaters.
Perform minor tree and shrub trimming duties.
Maintain all equipment and tools used in proper condition.
Possess a basic knowledge of shrubs, flowers, grass, seeding, etc.
Maintain and repair exterior sprinkler system for the facility.
Provide the maintenance department with recommendations and cost estimates for upgrading planted areas.
Understand proper watering and fertilizing techniques for trees and shrubs.
Perform safety inspections of firefighting equipment.
Record all required and pertinent information relating to Planned or Repair Maintenance using the proper log forms.
