MRI Availability Increases at RRH

Russell Regional Hospital continues to grow the availability of services in the Radiology Department. In March of 2023, 3D Mammo Technology was implemented to update equipment that provides high quality images for patients receiving services at RRH. Next steps in creating accessibility and high-quality images, RRH purchased its own MRI unit that can be utilized M-F, 8am to 4:30pm via appointment. This opportunity brings services to 5 days a week rather than 1 or 2 days due to a previous contracted service. Purchase of the MRI unit was a partnership of RRH and community support. Additional details about that partnership will be coming soon.
Usage of the MRI at Russell Regional Hospital is for anyone needing the service and not restricted to only RRH patients, residents, or vendors. Any client needing an MRI can request that their provider issue orders for the procedure at RRH. For any questions or to schedule an appointment, contact the RRH Radiology Dept at 785-483-3131, press 6. Drew Hamel, Radiology Director, commented, ā2023 has been a year of excitement for our department as we update equipment and increase availability of our services. I appreciate my team as we have navigated through this process and received additional training needed so that RRH can own the MRI service. Iām happy to talk to patients, providers, and health vendors that want to work with us.ā
Again, MRI services are now available M-F, 8am to 4:30pm at Russell Regional Hospital. Appointments and referrals can be made by calling 785-483-3131, press 6.
