Caring Beyond the ER

Russell Regional Hospital employees, auxiliary and local businesses have teamed up to create travel bags for the family of patients that have to be transported via air or ground ambulance due to their condition. Customer care and service are part of the quality and continuum of care that RRH believes in. Having to travel out of town with little to no notice and having the worry of a loved one’s health can create a lot of stress and chaos for family members. The travel bags will serve as a simple courtesy with basic supplies to help the family as they travel. The travel bags include a notepad, pen, snacks, Kleenex, toothbrush/paste, antibacterial hand gel, lip balm, and mints/hard candy. The RRH Auxiliary created handmade bags for the travel items, employees and local businesses added the travel bag contents. Partners include: Southwind Bank, World Class Revenue Solutions, A&N Services, LLC, and Schneider Tank Service. RRH employees participating include Stephanie Flegler and Janae Talbott. Additional items may be added depending on sponsorships and participation. Janae Talbott, Director of Public Relations, commented, “The RRH Auxiliary supports RRH in many ways and their willingness to make the travel bags was key to being able to accomplish our goal. Community and employee partnerships ease the cost of the service that we hope will be of comfort for family members who may be filled with worry, concern and stress due to their loved one’s condition. We will adjust and add to the program as needed. Thank you to all of our partners for helping make this service a reality.” To keep updated on RRH events, activities, and services, updates can be found in local media sources, social media, and at russellhospital.org.
